Set in the Entre Deux Mers region left of Dordogne river, appellation Bordeaux, Château Prieuré la Caussade is a boutique vignoble of 2,6 hectares. It is a characteristic mix of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
Typical to the region, the terroir of Château Prieuré la Caussade consists of shallow clay top soil, sitting on a bed of dense limestone or chaux, due to it's elevated position and soil structure, the site drains exceptionally well.
Vines have an average age of 30 years, meaning that they are well established and hardy, producing a wine of great character, with a structured palate, light tannins while retaining a clean fruity, & unmuddled acidity. A style which is pure Bordelaise.

Method
Traditional Champagne method
Our Crémant is locally produced in the méthode traditionelle de Champagne, with the first fermentation done in the cuve. It is produced at the cave of St. Pey-de-Castets, in the appellation Crémant de Bordeaux. It's smooth creamy sparkling character has a dry finish & fine bubbles. It is a fabulous with oysters & shellfish, foie gras, as an aperitif or served with fresh fruit as a dessert wine.
